Data Deletion Policy

All data is stored locally on your device only. Since we don't collect or store your data remotely, there's nothing for us to delete on our end.
1. How to Delete Your Data
Option A: Delete All Data (Keep App Installed)
- Open Riva app
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Data Management section
- Tap "Clear All Data"
- Confirm deletion
What gets deleted:
- All period entries
- All cycle history
- All user preferences
- Notification settings
- Any exported files (from app storage)
Data is deleted immediately and permanently.
Option B: Uninstall the App (Complete Removal)
- Go to your phone's Settings
- Select Apps or Application Manager
- Find Riva
- Tap Uninstall
- Confirm deletion
What gets deleted:
- The Riva application
- All period data and cycle history
- All preferences and settings
- All local database files
- All app cache and temporary files
Data is deleted immediately when you uninstall.
Note: This action cannot be undone. Export your data before uninstalling if you want to keep it!
Option C: Export Before Deleting (Recommended)
If you want to keep a copy of your data before deletion:
- Open Riva app
- Go to Settings
- Tap "Export Data"
- Choose location to save CSV file
- Then follow Option A or B above
Format: CSV (Comma-Separated Values) — can be opened in Excel, Google Sheets, or any text editor.
2. What Happens When Data Is Deleted
Immediate Actions
- All SQLite database tables are cleared
- Shared preferences are reset
- Local files are removed
- App cache is cleared
- Scheduled notifications are cancelled
Permanent Deletion
- Data deletion is permanent and irreversible
- Once deleted, data cannot be recovered
- There are no backups (unless you exported data)
- We have no way to restore your data
What We Don't Do
- We don't store your data on servers to delete
- We don't need to process deletion requests
- We don't keep archives or backups of your data
- We don't have access to your device data

4. Third-Party Services (If Enabled)
Riva currently operates 100% offline with no third-party integrations.
If you enable optional cloud features in future versions:
Google Sign-In
- Signing out removes local synced data
- Google account info is not stored by Riva
- Manage Google data at: myaccount.google.com
Firebase (Optional Cloud Backup)
- Cloud data can be deleted from Settings
- Request deletion via: rivatheflow@gmail.com
- Firebase data deletion: 30 days maximum
These features are opt-in only and disabled by default.
5. Request Data Deletion (For Compliance)
For Users Without Cloud Features
Since data is stored locally only:
- Delete data using in-app options (see Section 1)
- Uninstall the App
- No need to contact us (we don't have your data)
For Users With Cloud Features (Future)
If you enable cloud features and want to delete cloud data:
- Email: rivatheflow@gmail.com
- Subject: Data Deletion Request — Riva
- Response Time: 7 business days
- Deletion Timeline: Within 30 days of request
6. Verification of Deletion
To verify local data is deleted:
- Clear all data from Settings
- Close and reopen the App
- Check that no cycle data appears
- Verify calendar is empty
7. Data We Don't Have Access To
Even if you contact us, we cannot delete:
- Data on your device (you must delete it yourself)
- Exported CSV files (delete from your storage)
- Screenshots you've taken
- Backups on your Google Drive or computer
- Data shared with other apps
You have full control over this data.
8. GDPR & CCPA Compliance
GDPR — Right to Erasure (EU Users)
- Data is already local-only (you control it)
- Delete using in-app options
- No need to request deletion from us
CCPA — Right to Delete (California Users)
- No personal information is collected
- All data is local to your device
- You can delete anytime using app settings
9. Children's Data
For users under 13:
- Parents/guardians can delete data
- Follow same deletion process
- No special process required (data is local only)
