1. Description of Service
Riva is a privacy-first menstrual cycle tracking application that allows users to:
- Track menstrual cycle dates and patterns
- View cycle predictions and analytics
- Receive local notifications for period reminders
- Export cycle data as CSV for personal use
- Optionally sign in with Google to sync cycle data across their own devices via Firebase Firestore
The App operates offline by default, with all data stored locally on your device. Cloud sync is strictly opt-in and only activates when you choose to sign in with Google.
2. User Eligibility
Age Requirements
- Users must be at least 13 years of age to use this App
- Users under 18 should have parental consent
- The App is designed for individuals who have started menstruation
Account Creation
- No account required for the core features of the App
- The App can be used completely anonymously
- Google Sign-In is optional and is only used if you choose to enable cloud sync of your cycle data
3. License and Usage Rights
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Riva for personal, non-commercial purposes.
Restrictions
You may NOT:
- Modify, reverse engineer, or decompile the App
- Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Attempt to access other users' data
- Distribute or sell the App without permission
- Remove or alter any copyright notices
- Use the App to harm others or violate their privacy
Intellectual Property
- The App, its trademarks, branding, and visual assets are the property of the Riva team
- You retain full ownership of the cycle data you enter into the App
4. User Data and Privacy
Data Ownership
- You own all your data entered into the App
- Your cycle data stays on your device by default, and is only copied to the cloud if you opt into Google Sign-In
- We do not claim any ownership rights to your personal information or cycle data
Data Control
You have the right to:
- Export your data as CSV at any time
- Delete all local data from Settings → Clear all data
- Use the App without ever signing in or sharing any data
- Sign out of Google at any time to stop further cloud sync
- Request deletion of any cloud-synced data by emailing rivatheflow@gmail.com

5. No Medical Advice
Medical Disclaimer
- Riva does not provide medical advice
- Predictions are estimates based on past cycles
- Consult healthcare professionals for medical concerns
- Do not rely on the App for birth control
Limitation of Medical Use
The App is not intended to:
- Diagnose any medical condition
- Replace professional medical advice
- Serve as a contraceptive device
- Detect pregnancy or fertility
Emergency: If you experience a medical emergency, call your local emergency services immediately.
6. Accuracy and Reliability
Predictions
- Cycle predictions are estimates only
- Based on historical data you provide
- Individual cycles vary naturally
- Accuracy depends on data quality and regularity
No Guarantees
We do not guarantee:
- Prediction accuracy
- App availability at all times
- Data backup or recovery
- Compatibility with all devices
7. Notifications and Reminders
- Reminders are scheduled and delivered locally on your device (no server push is used)
- Local reminders do not require an internet connection
- You can disable notifications at any time in Settings
- Battery optimization or Doze mode on your device may affect notification timing
8. Third-Party Services
The only third parties Riva interacts with, and only if you choose to sign in, are services operated by Google LLC:
- Google Sign-In — authenticates you using your Google account
- Firebase Authentication — manages your authenticated session with Riva
- Firebase Firestore — stores a per-user copy of your cycle data so it syncs across your own devices
These services are governed by Google's Privacy Policy and the Firebase Terms of Service. Riva does not integrate advertising networks, analytics SDKs, crash reporters, or social-media SDKs.
9. Updates and Modifications
We may update the App to add new features, fix bugs, improve performance, and enhance security. Updates are provided through Google Play Store.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms. Changes will be indicated by the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
10. Termination
By User
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling removes all local data from your device. If you enabled cloud sync via Google Sign-In, see the Data Deletion Policy for how to delete the synced copy stored in Firestore.
By Us
We reserve the right to discontinue the App with reasonable notice, modify features, or remove the App from distribution platforms.
11. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
We disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted operation.
You use the App at your own risk. We are not responsible for data loss, device compatibility issues, or OS-related problems.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill.
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or liability, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Riva, its developers, and contributors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App, violation of these Terms, or violation of any rights of another party.
14. Geographic Availability & Compliance
The App is available globally through Google Play Store, and you are responsible for complying with local laws when using the App.
For California Residents
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA. See our Privacy Policy for details.
For EU/UK Residents
EU and UK residents have rights under GDPR. When you use the App offline, no personal data within the meaning of GDPR is processed by us. If you opt into Google Sign-In, we process your Google email, Google UID, display name, and cycle data in order to provide the sync service. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, etc.) and how to exercise them.
For Minors
- Obtain parental consent before using the App
- Parents/guardians should review these Terms and the Privacy Policy
15. General Provisions
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Riva regarding the App.
Waiver: No waiver of any term shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver.
